Picking artificial Christmas trees
One of the most important parts of the holiday season is finding the tree that is right for you but many people have objected to cutting down these trees over the years due to the fact that it harms the environment.
As such, fake trees have seen a surge in usage over the years but you may not always know how to find the one that is right for you. So what is the best way to pick an artificial tree that is perfect for your home & family? Well, here are a few of the things you need to know.

Space
First up, you need to consider just how much room you have.
Experts say the tip of the tree should be no more than 6 inches from your ceiling if you want the tallest tree that can fit in your room. But this does not have to be the case; beyond the regular sizes, you can also get a table top tree or one that it a bit slimmer than the others which is perfect if you have an apartment or a condo.
Budget
The next thing you need to keep in mind is the cost associated with the tree. It may sound crazy but artificial trees can run as high as $5,551. Of course, if this is not something you can afford, they have much cheaper options that will only set you back $25 or so.
Experts say the best place to find an affordable tree such as that would be on the Walmart website as well as Amazon. This way, you can have a great Christmas without the need to worry about breaking the bank.
Pre-lit or not
So now that you have found a nice tree for a good price, you just have to choose whether you want to get it pre-lit or if you want to put on your own lights. So which option is better?
Well, with a pre-lit tree, it’s a lot more convenient & much less work for you. It also is much safer & efficient but you also don’t get to customize the tree to look the way you want.
It also can sometimes come with bulbs that are not of the utmost quality & the pre-lit trees do tend to be a bit more on the expensive side. So unless you’re willing to pay that extra price, it might just be better to go with an unlit tree.

Setup
So now that you’ve made your choice, you just need to decide where you’re going to set it up.
Now one thing to keep in mind is every room in your residence may not be the same height so you need to take that into consideration when you make your choice. But if it’s a tabletop tree, then the choice is clear.
Color
From there, you want to find the color that works for you. If you’re going for just a regular old tree, of course, you would have to get green but one of the upsides of the artificial ones is you can get them in any color you want.
I think the key is just to sit down with the fam & come to a consensus on a color that works for all of you. If you are living alone, then you’re free to pick whatever color you desire but just keep in mind if you do opt to go with a green tree, it may not look as realistic as you hope.
What the experts recommend is a style that has both dark and light green leaves mixed with a dark brown as this will make it look a bit more like a real tree.
Shape
After that, you’re going to have to decide what shape you want the tree to be. While most of them do come in the traditional full shape, there is also the slim, the pencil, the flat back & the upside down.

If you are hoping for a more traditional Christmas, you should definitely go with the full but the slim is a good choice if you want a tree that looks normal but tends to be a bit on the smaller side.
Then you have the pencil which is more of a thin tree & the flat back is about half the size of a regular tree cut either vertical or horizontal & it’s 13 inches. Finally, there is the upside-down which is exactly what it sounds like. So if you want a tree that defies the norms, this is the right tree for you.
Needle
So now that you’ve chosen the right shape for you, the next thing to do is find the perfect needle that suits your needs. So there are 3 types of needles to choose from: you’ve got the classic needle, the true needle & the pine needle.
The true needle is perfect if you’re going for a more realistic look, the pine is perfect if you’re someone who has an affinity for pine trees & the classic is perfect if you’re a more traditional guy. After selecting a needle, you will need to decide on the perfect species of tree.
There may be one that has a special meaning for you but if not, you can just pick whatever suits your fancy. You’ve got fir, spruce & pine but there’s hardly any difference so just choose whichever one looks best to you.
Topper
Now that that’s taken care of, you just need to decide whether you want a topper or not. Again, this is just a matter of choice & it does not make any difference at all whatsoever.
So if you want one, you should go out & get one but if not, that’s totally fine too. It’s really all about your own preference.

When to buy
Once you have all of that sorted out, you will just need to decide when is the best time to go out & get your tree for the holidays. So when is the best time to buy an artificial tree?
Well, a lot of the tree lots have a big sale after thanksgiving but if you really want the best tree deal, you should get one right after Christmas & save it for next year.
Because the demand is so low at this time, they will be practically giving these trees away to anyone who wants them and this brings us to our last topic.
Storage
After that, you will need to find a place to store it until it is ready to go out on display.
You could find a storage room in your house but not everyone is lucky enough to have this type of room in their residence. So the next logical step would be just to keep it in the shed in the backyard.
If you do not have one, you might be able to have a friend hold it for you or maybe even buy a storage locker to place it there until the time is right. But no matter where you store it, you can take comfort in knowing you found the perfect tree to have a magical holiday season.
